Questions
Frequently asked questions.
What does Twilio do in Ordering.co?
It sends the one-time codes customers use to log in or sign up with their phone number, by SMS or WhatsApp, so they do not need a stored password.
Can I offer login and sign-up separately?
Yes. Enable Login with SMS OTP lets existing customers log in with a code, and Enable Signup with SMS OTP lets new customers register with one. You can turn each on or off.
Can customers get the code on WhatsApp?
Yes. Turn on Enable WhatsApp OTP and add your Twilio WhatsApp number and the Content SID of an approved WhatsApp authentication template.
Whose Twilio account sends the messages?
Yours. Ordering.co uses the Account SID, Auth Token, and sender numbers from your Twilio account.
Can I use the same Twilio setup for order updates or marketing?
No. These settings cover login and sign-up codes. Order notifications and marketing campaigns have their own settings, and a WhatsApp authentication template should not be reused for marketing.
How do I know it is working?
After saving the settings, request a code on your website or app and confirm it arrives by SMS or WhatsApp before you offer it to customers.
