Login and security integration

Keep automated sign-ups and orders out with Google reCAPTCHA.

Help keep bots out of sign-up, login, and online ordering on your Ordering.co channels with Google reCAPTCHA v2, or v3 and v2 together, using your own keys.

reCAPTCHA stops the bots. Ordering.co runs the order.

Google reCAPTCHA screens out automated traffic. Ordering.co runs the customer accounts, channels, and orders it protects:

  • More products and features. More than 20 products and more than 1,500 features across websites, apps, marketplaces, kiosks, call centers, loyalty, and delivery.
  • Protection on your own channels. reCAPTCHA checks run on your sign-up, login, and ordering flows, under your brand.
  • Your design, not a template. Build an ordering experience with your own custom design, with help from our team.
  • Built to extend. APIs and MCP, with application source code available on eligible plans.

Why use Google reCAPTCHA with Ordering.co

  • Fewer fake accounts. Add a reCAPTCHA check to sign-up.
  • Safer logins. Add a reCAPTCHA check to login.
  • Fewer automated orders. Validate the online ordering process to help prevent automated submissions.
  • Your keys, your settings. Choose the version, the score threshold, and where each check runs.

What Google reCAPTCHA brings

Google describes reCAPTCHA on Google for Developers:

  • Protection from spam and abuse, using advanced risk analysis to tell humans and bots apart.
  • reCAPTCHA v3, which returns a score for each request without interrupting people.
  • reCAPTCHA v2, which asks people to interact with a checkbox before they continue.

How reCAPTCHA works in Ordering.co

  1. You add your reCAPTCHA keys and choose the version in Settings > Enterprise > Security.
  2. A customer signs up, logs in, or places an order on a flow where you turned reCAPTCHA on.
  3. reCAPTCHA checks the request. With v3, the score is compared with the threshold you set.
  4. Requests that pass continue, and the customer keeps ordering.

Set up and go live

  1. In the Google reCAPTCHA admin console, register your domains and create keys for the versions you plan to use.
  2. In the Ordering.co Dashboard, open Settings > Enterprise > Security.
  3. Paste the reCAPTCHA Site Key and Secret Key, and choose reCAPTCHA Version: Recaptcha v2, or Both (Recaptcha v3 and Recaptcha v2).
  4. If you use v3, add the v3 Site Key and v3 Secret Key, and set the v3 Score Threshold between 0 and 1.
  5. Turn on Enable reCAPTCHA for Sign Up, the login check, and Enable reCAPTCHA for Online Ordering for the flows you want to protect, then save.
  6. Test sign-up, login, and checkout on your website before you rely on it.

Keep your secret keys private. Enter them only in the Dashboard, never in emails, tickets, or shared documents.

More ways to protect accounts

  • Signup verification. Security settings can require email or mobile phone verification after sign-up.
  • One session per customer. Social login options can block a login when the same customer already has an active session on another device.
  • Twilio sends one-time codes by SMS or WhatsApp, so customers sign in with a verified phone number.
  • Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and Facebook Login let customers log in with accounts they already have.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What does Google reCAPTCHA do in Ordering.co?

It adds a check that helps tell people and bots apart, so automated scripts have a harder time creating accounts, logging in, or submitting orders on your channels.

Where can I turn it on?

Separately for sign-up, for login, and for online ordering, where it validates the order process to help prevent automated submissions. Turn on only the checks you need.

Which reCAPTCHA versions can I use?

Choose Recaptcha v2, or Both to use reCAPTCHA v3 and v2 together. Each version uses its own site key and secret key.

What is the v3 score threshold?

reCAPTCHA v3 scores each request from 0.0 to 1.0, where Google treats 1.0 as very likely a good interaction and 0.0 as very likely a bot. You set the threshold between 0 and 1 in the Dashboard. Google suggests starting at 0.5 and adjusting it to your traffic.

Whose Google account is used?

Yours. You create the keys in your own reCAPTCHA admin console and add them in the Dashboard.

How do I keep my keys safe?

Enter the secret keys only in the Dashboard, and never share them in screenshots, tickets, chat, or shared documents.
