Login and security integration

Let customers sign in with their Google account.

Let customers log in or sign up on your Ordering.co website and apps with their Google account, using credentials from your own Google and Firebase project.

Google verifies the customer. Ordering.co runs the order.

Google handles the sign-in. Ordering.co runs the customer accounts, channels, and orders the customer signs into:

  • More products and features. More than 20 products and more than 1,500 features across websites, apps, marketplaces, kiosks, call centers, loyalty, and delivery.
  • Your own branded channels. Customers sign in with Google on your website and apps, under your brand.
  • Your design, not a template. Build an ordering experience with your own custom design, with help from our team.
  • Built to extend. APIs and MCP, with application source code available on eligible plans.

Why use Google Sign-In with Ordering.co

  • Simpler sign-in. Customers log in or sign up with the Google account they already use.
  • Fewer password resets. Customers who sign in with Google have no separate password to forget.
  • More completed registrations. Offer Google next to email, phone, Apple, and Facebook, so customers choose the method they prefer.
  • One project for every channel. A single Firebase project can handle sign-in for your website and your apps.

What Google Sign-In brings

Google describes these capabilities in its Sign in with Google overview:

  • Consent before sharing. People sign in to their Google account, give their consent, and securely share their profile information.
  • A visibly trusted, secure button that people recognize.
  • Privacy. Google states that data from Sign in with Google is not used for ads or other non-security purposes.

How a customer signs in

  1. The customer selects Sign in with Google on your website or app.
  2. Google asks the customer to confirm the account and authorize access.
  3. Google approves the sign-in and returns the customer.
  4. Ordering.co signs the customer in, and the customer continues to order.

Set up and go live

The Ordering.co Google login setup guide walks through each step:

  1. In the Firebase Console, create a project or reuse the one for your brand.
  2. Register your website domain, Android Package Name, and iOS Bundle ID. For Android, add the app signing SHA-1 fingerprint from Google Play.
  3. In Authentication > Sign-in method, enable Google, then add your website domain under Authorized domains.
  4. In the Ordering.co Dashboard, open Settings > Pro > Social login options > Google Sign-in and fill Google Login ID, Google Client ID, Google Client Secret, Google Login Auth Domain, Google Login API Key, and Google Login ID for iOS.
  5. Set Enable Google Login to Yes, save, and complete a test sign-in with a Google account you control.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What does Google Sign-In do in Ordering.co?

It adds a Sign in with Google button to your website and apps, so customers can log in or sign up with their Google account instead of a new password.

Where does the button appear?

When Enable Google Login is set to Yes, the button appears on your website and mobile apps. When it is set to No, Google login is hidden.

Whose Google account is used?

Yours. You create the Firebase project, enable the Google provider, and copy the credentials into the Dashboard. One Firebase project can handle sign-in for your website and your apps.

Does it work in my mobile apps?

Yes, once the apps are registered in the same Firebase project. Android needs the app signing SHA-1 fingerprint from Google Play, and iOS uses the Google Login ID for iOS field in the Dashboard.

Why doesn't the button appear on my website?

Check that Enable Google Login is set to Yes and that your website domain is on the authorized domains list in Firebase Authentication.

How do I keep my credentials safe?

Enter the client secret and API key only in the Dashboard, and never share them in screenshots, tickets, chat, or shared documents.
