Ordering.co vs Menufy

Menufy combines a restaurant's direct ordering website with managed marketing and POS connections. Ordering.co connects your branded website and apps to merchant operations, your own delivery fleet, and APIs. Compare the work your restaurant needs to run, rather than treating either service as a replacement for the POS.

Why restaurants evaluate Ordering.co alongside Menufy

Start with the next operational constraint: another ordering channel, drivers to coordinate, or a customer experience your developers need to change.

  • Run your own fleet from the order

Ordering.co connects driver assignment, live location, and proof of delivery to the store's order. That gives your dispatcher and driver a shared workflow when delivery is a business you operate, alongside connected courier providers.

  • Add channels to the same catalog

Your website, customer apps, kiosk, call center, and AI ordering agents can use the same store and catalog foundation. For example, a phone agent can take an order without keeping a second menu for the phone channel.

  • Build beyond a configured storefront

Use Ordering.co APIs and webhooks for your integrations, and the open-source frontend code included with every product for your own interface. The backend and API remain managed by default; frontend access does not transfer backend ownership.

  • Connect the next restaurant to the operation

Manage stores, menus, hours, order intake, and delivery from the platform rather than introducing an unrelated ordering process at each location. Agree which system owns menu changes before connecting a POS.

What each platform puts in the restaurant

Menufy is an ordering and marketing service. Clover is a POS that Menufy can connect to; the Menufy app in Clover is different from a customer's ordering app.

Decisions to settle before choosing Menufy

Direct ordering, discovery, payment processing, and delivery are different services. Put the scope and payer of each on the same proposal.

  • Compare the current offer, not an old fee

Menufy's U.S. plans page lists $149 per month on a 12-month agreement, billed monthly, or $179 month-to-month, with the same feature set and no per-order commissions. Its separate Clover billing help describes metered per-order service fees. Match the contract and integration path before applying either model to your restaurant.

  • A delivery connection is not a driver operation

Menufy's current product pages describe partner delivery but do not list a native driver app. If you employ drivers, demonstrate assignment, failed delivery, and proof with the people who will dispatch the shift.

  • Decide who maintains the customer experience

Menufy offers a managed website and marketing service. Its reviewed public product material does not list a frontend source-code license, kiosk, or phone-agent order console. Teams that need those surfaces should compare that scope with Ordering.co, including the staff needed to operate it.

Move the restaurant, not just its Order Online button

Keep the existing channel taking orders while you prove one restaurant's complete workflow. A proposed migration is not an automatic export or a transfer of every customer credential.

What moves

  • Menu and location setup

Map categories, modifiers, prices, hours, taxes, service areas, and order types. Where Clover controls the menu, map its item identifiers before importing a copy.

  • Guest records and permissions

Request the customer and order records your agreement permits you to export, including marketing consent. Do not assume passwords, saved cards, loyalty balances, or reviews are portable.

  • Accounts and settlement

Keep access to the domain, Google Business Profile, payment accounts, and POS. Record unsettled orders, refunds, service fees, and the final Menufy billing date.

How the move runs

  1. Rebuild one real menu

Load a representative menu with required modifiers and an unavailable item. Give the store team access before sending customers to the channel.

  2. Prove pickup and delivery

Place a pickup order, a partner-delivery order, and, if relevant, an own-driver order. Check receipt, preparation status, fees, customer tracking, and the payment record.

  3. Test the exception at the POS

Cancel a paid order and reconcile the refund in the payment provider, POS, and ordering records. Test a failed POS handoff before the first busy service.

  4. Change traffic after acceptance

Update the restaurant's order links and domain only after staff accept the workflow. Keep the former records available for refunds and reconcile the last billing period before ending service.

Data availability, POS scope, domain access, and existing contractual obligations determine the move. Replacing a listing in a shared consumer app is different from updating an app your restaurant owns.

Questions from restaurants comparing Menufy

Is Menufy by HungerRush the same as a POS?

HungerRush announced its acquisition of Menufy in 2021. Menufy supplies online ordering and marketing; Clover and other POS products handle the connected in-store operation. Buying Menufy does not by itself replace your existing registers or prove every POS workflow is included.

What should a Menufy pricing comparison include?

Use the current plan or your actual Clover agreement, then add payment processing, delivery charges, equipment, and any other contracted services. For Ordering.co, compare the channels and integrations you will use and applicable platform, AI, delivery, and processing charges. A subscription and a per-order charge need the same monthly order volume to be comparable.

Does a branded Menufy site bring marketplace discovery?

Menufy's direct site and Google visibility help guests reach your restaurant; its consumer directory and app are another entry point. Distinguish traffic a service can introduce from repeat orders your own marketing generates. Neither a direct storefront nor a software subscription guarantees new demand.

How should we use Menufy reviews in the decision?

Look for accounts with your POS, service model, and location count. Use their reports to choose demo tests: a modifier rejected by the POS, an interrupted delivery, and a refund that must reconcile. A star rating cannot establish that those workflows fit your restaurant.

Can our developers extend Ordering.co after the switch?

Yes, through APIs, webhooks, and the included open-source frontend code. That is different from receiving the backend: it is managed by default, and backend source licensing is limited to approved enterprise organizations under a separate agreement.

Compare on the menu and delivery model you run.

Bring a Menufy or Clover statement, one representative menu, and your pickup and delivery split. Walk through the Ordering.co order, the POS handoff, and the monthly cost for that scope.
