Delivery and drivers

Set the rules your drivers follow, in the app.

Driver app settings decide what a driver can do at each step of a delivery, from rejecting an assigned order to reporting a problem, plus the location checks that keep pickups and drop-offs honest.

Driver app settings

What you can do

  • Driver app settings

Configure the delivery steps your drivers follow in the app: order status, assignment, driver controls, and offline work.

  • Driver permissions

Decide what a driver can do, including rejecting an order, updating their own profile, and setting their own availability.

  • Problem reporting

Drivers report a failed pickup, an order that is not ready, or a failed delivery, with a reason and a comment.

  • Filtered orders summary

Drivers see counts and a cash-tip total for the orders currently loaded in their list.

  • Offline changes

Let a driver keep recording order changes through a connectivity interruption, then sync them once the app reconnects.

  • Navigation apps

Drivers open the delivery in their phone's navigation app, choosing Google Maps or Waze.

  • Location-based status updates

Order status updates when the driver reaches the store or the customer.

  • Pickup and drop-off checks

Require drivers to pick up at the store and deliver at the customer's address.

  • Driver location history

See each driver's live location, with saved locations and routes.

Dashboard

Decide what drivers can do in the app.

Driver app settings in the Dashboard control what a driver can do in the Driver app, from rejecting an assigned order to reporting that a pickup failed.

  • Allow order rejection: let drivers decline an assigned order
  • Profile updates: let drivers edit their own profile information
  • Set own availability: let drivers turn their own availability on or off
  • Enable driver order availability: let drivers choose whether they're available to receive orders
  • Hide driver ETA: hide the estimated arrival time drivers see
  • Order not ready status: let drivers report that an order was not ready for pickup
  • Failed pickup status: let drivers report that a pickup could not be completed
  • Driver-entered delivery time: let drivers enter an expected delivery time
  • Allow GPS mock locations: allow simulated device locations for the driver app

Driver app

Keep working through a connectivity interruption.

The Offline changes setting lets a driver keep recording order changes while their connection drops, and sync those changes once the app reconnects.

  • Turned on from Driver app settings in the Dashboard
  • A driver can keep recording order changes during a connectivity interruption
  • Changes sync once the app reconnects

Driver app

Report a pickup or delivery that didn't go as planned.

When a pickup or delivery can't be completed, drivers report it from Order details with a reason and a comment, instead of leaving the order stuck.

  • Pickup failed: report that a pickup could not be completed
  • Order not ready: report that the business hasn't prepared the order yet, when the project enables this action
  • Delivery Failed: report that an order could not be completed at the customer's location
  • Predefined reasons, including Other
  • A comment describing what happened
  • An optional photo, when the project requires one

Driver app

See totals for the orders currently loaded.

Orders Summary shows drivers quick counts for their current filtered list of orders, without leaving the Orders screen.

  • Completed and cancelled order counts for the loaded list
  • A cash-tip total for completed orders
  • "Loaded X of Y", so drivers know when more orders are available
  • Reflects the driver and the filters currently applied
  • Collapsible, so drivers can hide it when they don't need it

How it works

From setup to the next order.

  1. 01Choose the settings for your delivery workflow

In the Dashboard's Delivery features settings, configure the driver permissions, status, and offline options your operation needs.

  2. 02Drivers pick up and deliver with location checks

As drivers reach the store or the customer, order status can update automatically, and the app checks their location before it lets them mark the order picked up or delivered.

  3. 03Drivers report a problem when something goes wrong

If a pickup or delivery can't be completed, drivers report it from Order details with a reason and a comment, instead of leaving the order stuck.

Good to know

  • Driver app settings can vary by project configuration; not every setting described here is necessarily shown for every account.
  • Orders Summary totals come from the orders currently loaded in the app. They are not an earnings, payout, or reconciliation report.
  • Location-based status updates and pickup and drop-off checks compare the driver's device location with the store or the customer's address; they don't calculate or plan a route.
