Why teams evaluate Ordering.co alongside UpMenu
Evaluate your next operating requirement rather than comparing a website price with a complete deployment.
Connect the channels you operate
Run web, branded apps, kiosk, phone-agent, and AI ordering experiences on the same catalog. Choose the channels that fit your restaurant and staff capacity.
Coordinate delivery and the store
Merchant and driver workflows share the order, from preparation to dispatch and delivery proof. Demonstrate your own-driver and partner-delivery scenarios separately.
Extend the frontend you use
Use included open-source frontend code, APIs, and webhooks to change the customer experience and connect supported systems. The backend remains managed by default.
Compare the operation behind the order
Both products support direct restaurant ordering. UpMenu prices several capabilities as separate modules; a not-listed entry refers only to the reviewed public offering.
| Capability | Ordering.co | UpMenu |
|---|---|---|
| Menus and customer channels | ||
| Website and menu | Manage products, categories, modifiers, promotions, and ordering hours on the shared platform. | UpMenu offers a website editor and ordering storefront with menu management, variants, modifiers, and cross-selling. |
| Branded customer apps | Publish your branded iOS and Android apps with your developer accounts, subject to store approval. | Add-onA separately priced Mobile App module supplies a branded iOS and Android app, with multi-location support and push notifications. |
| Pickup and delivery rules | Configure service areas, hours, order types, and fees for each store. | UpMenu describes pickup, curbside, dine-in, delivery zones, preorders, and order throttling. Test the scheduling and capacity rules you need. |
| Delivery and extensibility | ||
| Own-driver app | Assign your drivers, track the order, and capture PIN, photo, signature, or video proof of delivery. | Add-onThe Driver App module includes dispatch, a live map, and GPS tracking. |
| Third-party delivery services | Connect supported couriers and your own fleet with store-level delivery configuration; provider charges apply. | Add-onDelivery Services is a separate module; the delivery page lists providers including Uber Direct and DoorDash Drive. Check coverage and courier charges. |
| Included frontend source code | Open-source frontend code is included with every product; the backend and API are managed by default. | Not listed |
| Customer and order records | Use profiles and order history within your data rights; agree exports and migration scope before changing channels. | UpMenu describes customer records, saved addresses, order history, and marketing consent. Verify available export fields and account access. |
“Not listed” means the capability does not appear in UpMenu's product lineup. Confirm scope and terms with each provider.
Costs and scope to compare
USD monthly net prices checked October 21, 2026; taxes, processing, and courier charges need their own calculation.
Web ordering depends on volume
UpMenu lists Web Ordering at $49 for 75 orders, $89 for 210, or $169 for unlimited orders, per location per month. The feature table lists additional orders at $1.90 each. Compare the same locations and volume.
Add the modules you will use
Mobile App is $49, Driver App $19, and Delivery Services $40 per location per month. Compare the complete module selection, payment processing, delivery charges, and taxes with the Ordering.co proposal.
An app and a source-code license are different
A branded app gives customers your identity in the app stores. It does not establish rights to change the frontend code. Compare publishing accounts, maintenance, export rights, and development access explicitly.
Proven with enterprise brands.
The platform you would run on already runs ordering for Alsea, a multi-brand restaurant group with more than 4,000 locations.
Alsea runs WOW+ and ten restaurant brands on one ordering platform.Domino's, Starbucks, Burger King, Vips, and six more brands share one app, one website, call centers, and a delivery operation that assigns drivers automatically.10 brands on WOW+4,262 locationsMexico and ColombiaRead the Alsea storyMove the restaurant workflow in stages
Keep UpMenu accepting orders while one representative location proves the new menu, payment, merchant, and delivery flow.
What moves
Menu and service rules
Map variants, modifiers, required options, taxes, promotions, prep times, zones, hours, and scheduled orders. Confirm which system owns the menu after migration.
Customer records and app accounts
Request permitted exports and consent records. Confirm ownership and access for domains and app listings; do not assume passwords, saved cards, loyalty balances, or push tokens transfer.
Connections and open orders
List payment, POS, printing, delivery, and analytics accounts, unresolved refunds, and final module billing. Reconnect each provider only within confirmed scope.
How the move runs
Configure a representative restaurant
Load a real menu with required modifiers and an unavailable item. Give staff access and train them on acceptance and preparation.
Test web and app checkout
Check location choice, prices, scheduled pickup, payment failure, and customer confirmation on both channels. Apple and Google control app approval.
Test delivery and the exception
Assign an own-driver order and a partner-delivery order where applicable. Cancel and refund one paid order, then reconcile merchant, provider, and payment records.
Change traffic after acceptance
Update order links and app releases once staff accept the setup. Retain the former records and resolve subscription obligations before cancellation.
A staged migration is not an automatic UpMenu import or a guarantee that every connected service, credential, and data field can move. Confirm exports and provider access first.
Questions about UpMenu and Ordering.co
Does UpMenu have branded customer apps and a driver app?
Yes. Its current product material describes both, with separate modules. Compare the publishing process, driver workflow, support, and total scope rather than assuming UpMenu only supplies a website.
How should we compare UpMenu pricing with Ordering.co?
Use the same restaurant count, order volume, channels, drivers, and connected providers. Include implementation, module subscriptions, payment and delivery charges, and the staff who operate them. A single module price does not represent the complete service.
Does marketplace order aggregation create our own marketplace?
No. Receiving orders from existing marketplaces is a different workflow from onboarding merchants into a marketplace you operate. Ordering.co supports that second model, including checkout across several stores on web and app; define merchant roles, fulfillment, and payment scope separately.
Can we keep our POS during a migration?
Confirm the supported connection and demonstrate menu, order, status, and refund behavior for your provider. Neither a listed integration nor access to an API guarantees that your current workflow transfers unchanged.
