Ordering.co vs Loyverse

Loyverse is a mobile POS for Android and iOS with a browser-based Back Office. Its free core already includes essential inventory, loyalty, and kitchen tools; advanced inventory is a paid extension. Ordering.co addresses a different purchasing decision: branded customer ordering channels and the merchant and delivery workflow behind them. If you need Loyverse for PC or Windows, separate browser administration from the device that actually takes a sale.

Why add a dedicated ordering foundation

  • Give customers their own channel

A cashier app and a customer app serve different actors. Ordering.co offers branded websites and native customer apps connected to the catalog, payment flow, and merchant order queue.

  • Connect the sale to the delivery handoff

Plan dispatch, driver availability, customer status, and proof of delivery in the ordering operation. Do not treat a POS receipt or a delivery service item as evidence that a driver workflow is configured.

  • Extend the experience with clear ownership

Build on Ordering.co APIs, webhooks, MCP, and included frontend source code. Loyverse also publishes an API: the work is to design a supported data flow, not to assume the two APIs already form a connector.

Separate cashier tools from customer ordering

CapabilityOrdering.coLoyverse
Devices, stock, and payment
Cashier device and PC accessCustomer channels connect to merchant operations and the web Dashboard; choose devices around the role each person performs.Official POS apps are Android/iOS. Back Office works in a browser on a computer; that is not a native Windows POS download.
Ingredient and purchasing inventoryScope catalog availability and integration with the system responsible for recipes, purchasing, and stock accounting.Essential stock and composite items are free. Advanced Inventory adds purchase orders, transfers, counts, production, valuation, and history.
Card acceptanceConnect payment gateways to the ordering flow. Confirm country, merchant account, fees, refunds, and settlement with the selected provider.Integrated providers depend on market. Standalone terminals can be recorded without integration, with separate amount entry and reconciliation.
Operating costCompare the agreed platform, implementation, usage, payment, and delivery charges at your locations and order volume. Customer branding does not mean owning the backend.Free core POS with paid extensions. Advanced Inventory is listed at USD 25 per store/month, before tax. Employee and history add-ons have separate billing units; confirm the current country price.
Customer experience and fulfillment
Native customer ordering apps under your brandBranded websites and customer apps for iOS and Android, connected to the same catalog and order flow. Not listed
Driver operationYour drivers use assignment, navigation, in-order communication, and PIN, photo, signature, or video proof. Connected delivery partners can participate in the fulfillment design. The reviewed POS material focuses on checkout, inventory, and integrations. Define a delivery connector and driver workflow separately.
Multi-merchant customer checkoutOperate multiple merchants, their catalogs, and one checkout across stores, with a delivery or pickup time per order. Not listed
Data portabilityMap authorized customer and catalog records to the new order operation; keep a reconciliation archive.Customer records can be exported/imported through the Back Office CSV workflow. This does not move payment tokens or automatically map every receipt.
Code and infrastructure
Open-source ordering frontendsThe storefront, customer apps, Merchant App, Driver App, and Dashboard frontends are open source and included with every product. Backend and API remain managed by default. Not listed
Enterprise installation in your cloud accountManaged infrastructure by default. Enterprise organizations can agree an installation in their own AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or Railway account. Not listed

“Not listed” means the capability does not appear in Loyverse's product lineup. Confirm scope and terms with each provider.

Where the purchase decisions differ

  • Free POS does not price the online operation

Count devices, card processing, paid inventory, employee features, integrations, and delivery separately. A zero core subscription can be attractive without covering a branded customer app or the software that assigns your couriers.

  • PC access is a Back Office question

Use the official browser Back Office for management on a Windows computer. The published POS downloads are mobile; do not base checkout procurement on an unofficial Windows installer or assume an emulator is a supported device.

Move the customer channel without losing the stock owner

What moves

  • Items and component ownership

Map items, variants, modifiers, and store prices. Decide whether Loyverse keeps component deductions and purchasing; avoid two systems independently reducing the same stock.

  • Customers and historical receipts

Export customer CSV with the permitted roles. Retain receipt and tax archives, deduplicate identities, and define which history is needed in the new channel.

How the move runs

  1. Set the boundary

Choose cashier POS, online catalog, payment processor, and stock authority. Obtain an integration scope instead of assuming a native Loyverse connection.

  2. Prove one store end to end

Test a customer order, modifier, stock change, declined payment, cancellation, and refund. Confirm whether each state returns to the POS and whether staff need a manual handoff.

  3. Expand only after reconciliation

Train staff on the web and mobile roles, reconcile the new order queue against cashier totals, and then add locations. Preserve the mobile POS device setup until the new workflow is accepted.

Questions about Loyverse and Ordering.co

Is Loyverse really free?

Its core is free, while advanced inventory, employee management, and extended sales history are paid options. Hardware, card acceptance, and a connected online operation still have their own costs.

Does Loyverse run on Windows?

The Back Office runs in a browser on a PC. Official POS apps target Android and iOS; browser administration is not the cashier app and does not establish a Windows POS release.

Will Ordering.co replace advanced inventory?

Do not assume identical purchasing, production, or valuation functions. Define those workflows with your inventory system and confirm which events need to cross into the ordering catalog.

Can the two systems connect?

Both expose integration tools, but an API is not a ready-made connector. Confirm object mapping, permissions, support, and failure recovery before committing to coexistence.
