Why use Stripe with Ordering.co

  • Keep your payments in your own account. Customers pay into your Stripe account, and you manage payouts, refunds, and disputes in Stripe.
  • Offer the checkout customers expect. Cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are available in your Ordering.co checkout.
  • Roll out business by business. Configure Stripe once, then enable it for the stores, order types, and channels that need it.
  • No added commission. Ordering.co does not add a processing fee on top of Stripe’s.

What Stripe brings

Stripe describes these capabilities of its platform on its Payments page:

  • Local payment experiences in many markets and currencies.
  • Fraud prevention with Stripe Radar, and authorization optimization tools.
  • Reporting and payouts in the Stripe Dashboard, alongside your other Stripe products.

Stripe, Stripe Direct, and Stripe Redirect

Ordering.co configures Stripe in three ways, so you can match the checkout to the order:

  • Stripe saves the customer’s card to their account, for a faster checkout on a later order.
  • Stripe Direct does not save the card, for a fast, one-time checkout.
  • Stripe Redirect sends the customer through a redirect flow for payment methods available in their country beyond cards, such as Bancontact, Alipay, and Giropay.

Currencies and payouts

You choose the currency customers are charged in when you configure Stripe. Your payout currency depends on your Stripe account, and Stripe converts funds when the two differ. See Stripe’s supported currencies. Some Stripe features vary by country; see Stripe feature availability by country.

Processing fees

Ordering.co does not add a processing commission to Stripe payments. Stripe charges its fees directly to your Stripe account under your Stripe terms. See Stripe’s current pricing for your country and payment methods.

Set up and go live

The Ordering.co Stripe setup guide walks through every step:

  1. Copy your live and test keys from the Stripe Dashboard.
  2. In the Ordering.co Dashboard, open Settings > Card payments, choose the transaction currency, and enter the four keys.
  3. Keep test mode on and place test orders with Stripe’s official test cards.
  4. Enable Stripe for each business in its Payment methods.
  5. When Stripe has verified your business, switch to live mode.

Keep secret keys private. Enter them only in the Dashboard, never in emails, tickets, or shared documents.

More ways to use Stripe

  • Stripe Connect splits each payment between a marketplace platform and its businesses.
  • Stripe Terminal takes in-person payments with Stripe card readers.
  • Stripe Checkout sends customers to a Stripe-hosted payment page, configured per business.
  • Stripe payment links for Call Center let staff send a payment link to a customer by SMS or WhatsApp.

How it works

Connect once, test safely, and go live where you choose.

    Test with Stripe test mode

Place test orders with Stripe's official test cards to check successful payments, declines, and authentication before any real money moves.

  3. 03
    Enable Stripe for each business

Turn Stripe on for the stores, order types, and channels that should offer it, then switch the configuration to live mode.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What payment methods can customers use?

Customers can pay with credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Apple Pay and Google Pay appear when the customer's device and browser support them. If you want to offer another method Stripe supports, talk to us first so we can confirm it works in your checkout.

Does Ordering.co charge a commission on Stripe payments?

No. Ordering.co does not add a processing commission. Stripe charges its own processing fees directly to your Stripe account; see Stripe's pricing for your country and payment methods.

Who owns the Stripe account and the payouts?

You do. Payments are processed in your Stripe account and paid out according to your Stripe payout settings. Ordering.co stores the keys needed to create charges for your businesses.

Can I use Stripe for only some of my businesses?

Yes. Stripe is configured once and then enabled business by business, including the order types and channels each business should offer it on. Test or live mode is shared by every business that uses the configuration.

Is the charge currency the same as my payout currency?

Not necessarily. The currency you select in Ordering.co is the one customers are charged in. Your payout currency depends on your Stripe account; when they differ, Stripe converts the funds. Check Stripe's supported currencies for your account country.

In which countries can I use Stripe?

You need a Stripe account in one of the countries Stripe supports, listed on this page. Stripe verifies each business before it can accept live payments, and some features vary by country.

What is the difference between Stripe and Stripe Connect?

This page covers payments collected in a single Stripe account. If you run a marketplace or multi-vendor platform and need to split each payment between the platform and its businesses, use Stripe Connect.

What is the difference between Stripe, Stripe Direct, and Stripe Redirect?

Stripe lets a customer save their card for a faster checkout on a later order. Stripe Direct does not save the card, for a fast, one-time checkout. Stripe Redirect sends the customer through a redirect flow for payment methods available in their country beyond cards, such as Bancontact, Alipay, or Giropay.
