Marketing and loyalty

Give customers a balance to spend at checkout.

Customers keep a cash balance and a points balance on Ordering.co. Add or reduce either one from the Dashboard, refund a canceled order into a wallet, and let customers see their balance and activity before they order again.

Customer wallets

What you can do

  • A cash balance for every customer

Customers keep a cash balance on your platform that they can spend at checkout, tracked with its own activity history. Gift cards are redeemed online into this balance.

  • Add or reduce cash with a comment

From a customer's record, add or reduce their cash balance and record a comment with the change, for a reward, a promotional credit, or a manual adjustment.

  • A points balance from orders

Customers earn points on their orders and spend them at checkout, with redemption and accumulation rates you set.

  • Participating businesses, caps, and expiration

Turn points on for each business, and set a maximum balance and an expiration in days, or none, business by business.

  • Refunds to a wallet

Refund a canceled order to a customer's cash wallet or points wallet, in full or for an amount, from the order details.

  • Separate balances

Cash and points are separate balances, each its own type, so a customer's cash and points never mix or convert into each other.

  • Customer-visible balance and activity

Customers see their cash and points balance and dated activity from their account on the website, and the balance is part of the customer app as well.

  • Points at checkout

Where enabled, customers pay all or part of an order with their points balance at checkout.

Dashboard and website

A cash balance your team manages.

Cash Wallet gives each customer a separate balance you add to or reduce from their record, with every change recorded for review.

  • Add wallet money or reduce it from a customer's record, with an amount and a comment
  • Transaction history lists each addition, reduction, and purchase use
  • Refund a canceled order to Cash Wallet, in full or for an amount, from the order details
  • Choose which refund destinations a canceled order can use, such as Cash Wallet, Points Wallet, or another payment method, from Refund Settings
  • Customers see their cash balance and dated activity from their account on the website
  • Cash Wallet is a program you configure for rewards, promotional credits, and refunds, kept separate from Points Wallet

Dashboard and website

Points customers earn and spend.

Points Wallet turns orders into points customers can redeem, with participation, limits, and expiration you set business by business.

  • Set a points redemption value (points equal to a price) and a points accumulation value (points earned per order subtotal)
  • Turn Points Wallet on for each business, and set Redeem and Accumulation separately
  • Set a maximum points balance and an expiration in days, or no expiration, for each business
  • Add or reduce a customer's points from their record, with an amount and a comment, and review the change in Transaction history
  • Choose whether a canceled order can be refunded to points, from the same Refund Settings as Cash Wallet
  • Where checkout allows it, customers pay all or part of an order with their points balance
  • Customers see their points balance, activity, and loyalty level from their account on the website

How it works

From setup to the next order.

  1. 01Turn on Cash Wallet or Points Wallet

Enable the wallet you want to offer, then set redemption and accumulation values in the Dashboard.

  2. 02Choose which businesses participate

Turn on participation for each business, with the limits and expiration you choose.

  3. 03Customers earn, spend, and track their balance

Customers see their balance and activity from their account, and pay with it at checkout where you allow it.

Good to know

  • Loyalty levels are a separate feature that adds tiers on top of the points customers earn; see Loyalty levels.
  • This page covers Cash Wallet and Points Wallet, the customer's reward and refund balances. Customer payment wallet is a different feature: a saved card for faster checkout.
  • You configure the redemption rate, the accumulation rate, the caps, and the expiration in the Dashboard; nothing is enabled for a business until you turn it on.
