Cyber Monday sends a spike of orders through every channel that is open that day, including your own website and app. The businesses that keep that spike, instead of losing it to a marketplace or a competitor, are the ones that get their direct ordering channel ready before the traffic arrives. Here is what to check.
Start with promotions and coupons
Set up the offer before the day starts, not during it. On Ordering.co, you can create a coupon code customers enter at checkout or an automatic discount that applies with no code at all, as a percentage or a fixed amount. Limit it to a schedule so it only runs on Cyber Monday, to a minimum purchase, to specific products or categories, or to a customer's first order to convert visitors who found you through a promotion for the first time.
Test the offer once it is configured, from a customer's point of view, before the traffic hits: confirm the discount shows up correctly at checkout, alongside the subtotal and total, and that it stops applying once its conditions are no longer met.
See how coupons and automatic discounts work in Promotions and coupons.
Confirm stock and availability before the rush
Before the volume picks up, walk through your menu and confirm what is actually orderable. Mark any product you cannot fulfill at scale as out of stock or running low, so customers see the status instead of ordering something you cannot deliver. If one service, such as delivery, cannot keep up with demand while pickup can, pause that service instead of closing the whole store. If a location is not participating at all, put it on vacation mode.
All of this works at whatever level the day requires: one product, one category, one order type, or one location, without deleting anything or rebuilding the menu. Turn it all back on the same way once the rush is over.

Make checkout fast for first-time buyers
A lot of Cyber Monday traffic is someone ordering from you directly for the first time, often from a link in a promotion. Every extra step between that click and a completed order is a chance to lose them. Guest checkout lets a customer place an order by entering only the delivery details it needs, with no account to create first, which keeps that first order fast.

Keep customers posted while volume is high
Higher order volume means more customers wondering where their order stands. Order tracking and notifications sends a customer an update by email, text, or push notification every time the order's status changes, so they are not left guessing during your busiest hours. Decide ahead of time which channel fits your customers and which status changes should trigger an update.

Pair it with the rest of Black Friday week
Cyber Monday does not stand on its own; it closes out the same week as Black Friday. If you are still shaping the broader campaign, from positioning against the competition to keeping the customers you win, see How to be ready to sell for Black Friday and Get the most out of Black Friday. This checklist covers what to configure in your own ordering channel for the day itself.
