How a delivery moves

  3. The DoorDash tracking link is saved on the order.
  4. If the order is canceled in Ordering.co, the delivery is canceled in DoorDash. If DoorDash cancels the delivery, the order shows it was rejected by the delivery company.

Set up and go live

The Ordering.co DoorDash setup guide walks through each step:

  1. Create your DoorDash developer account and access keys, following DoorDash’s getting-started guide.
  2. In the Ordering.co Dashboard, open Plugins, add the DoorDash Drive plugin, and enter the Developer ID, Key ID, and Signing Secret, with separate values for sandbox.
  3. Review the DoorDash delivery company and its driver group: set the business address and time zone, and choose the stores and payment methods that can use DoorDash.
  4. In your DoorDash developer account, register the Ordering.co status-update endpoint as a webhook, authorized with an API key from Settings > Pro > Developers > API Keys.
  5. Run test deliveries with Development Mode on, request production access from DoorDash, then turn Development Mode off to go live.

No. DoorDash Drive delivers orders your customers place on your own website, app, or kiosk. DoorDash Marketplace is the DoorDash app, where customers find businesses and order inside DoorDash.

When is the DoorDash delivery requested?

When an order goes to DoorDash Drive, Ordering.co creates the delivery automatically with the pickup and drop-off addresses, contact details, instructions, items, order value, and driver tip.

What does the customer see after ordering?

The order status follows the Dasher, from confirming the delivery to arriving at your store, picking up, arriving at the customer, and dropping off. DoorDash's tracking link is saved on the order.

What happens if an order is canceled?

Canceling the order in Ordering.co cancels the DoorDash delivery. If DoorDash cancels the delivery, the order shows it was rejected by the delivery company.

What information does DoorDash need for each order?

Valid store and customer phone numbers and a complete drop-off address. The plugin can add the country phone code to phone numbers automatically.
