Follow up on the carts customers leave behind.
Set rules that remind customers by email, SMS, or push notification when a cart stays unfinished, and see every open cart, with its products and bill, from the Dashboard.
Cart recovery
What you can do
Recovery rules
Create recovery actions from Dashboard > Marketing > Cart recovery rules, each with its own name, description, and on/off switch.
A delay you choose
Base each rule on the last time the cart was opened, measured as a time value or a number of days.
Email, SMS, or push
Choose the channel for each reminder: email, SMS, or push notification.
Messages for each channel
Write email reminders in an HTML editor, and SMS and push messages in a message field, each with its own title.
One list of rules
Search your recovery actions, see which ones are on, and edit or delete them.
Open carts
See the carts that have a store and at least one product but never became an order, newest first.
Search and filters
Search open carts by cart ID or city, and filter them by cart ID, business, customer, city, and delivery date range.
Cart details
Open a cart to see the business, the customer’s contact details, the products, and the bill, with when the cart was last updated.
Dashboard
A rule for each reminder you want to send.
Each recovery action has two parts. General sets what the rule is and when it applies. Notifications sets what the customer receives and on which channel.
- Name and describe each rule so your team knows its purpose and timing
- Set the condition from the last time the cart was opened, in time or in days
- Turn a rule on or off with its switch
- Give each notification a title, a channel, and a message
- Choose email, SMS, or push notification as the channel
- Write emails in an HTML editor; SMS and push notifications use a message field
- Save the rule first, then add or edit its notifications
- Search the list of rules, and edit or delete a rule or a notification
Dashboard
See every cart that did not become an order.
Open carts lists the carts that have a business and at least one product but were not completed. Your team can find a cart, see what the customer chose, and decide how to follow up.
- Carts with a business and at least one product that were not completed
- Newest carts first, loaded in pages
- Search by cart ID or city
- Filter by cart ID, business, customer, city, and delivery date range
- Open a cart to see its ID and when it was last updated
- See the business, the customer’s contact details, the order details, and the products
- Review the bill, which can include the subtotal, discounts, taxes, fees, delivery charge, tip, payments, total, and a customer comment
- Use what customers left in their carts for customer support, follow-up offers, and product and inventory planning
How it works
How a recovery rule is set up.
- 01Create the rule
In Dashboard > Marketing > Cart recovery rules, add a recovery action and give it a clear name.
- 02Set the timing
Choose how long after the cart was last opened the rule applies, in time or in days.
- 03Write the reminder
Save the rule, add a notification by email, SMS, or push, write the message, and turn the rule on.
Good to know
- A reminder does not change the cart or apply a discount. To include an offer, create it in Advanced offers and mention it in the message.
- Reminders reach customers on the channels you set up. Follow the consent and messaging rules that apply to your business.
