Automation integration
Send order emails from your own mail server.
Send Ordering.co order emails and alerts through your own SMTP server, with your sender name, sender address, and reply-to, instead of the default sender.
Your mail server sends the email. Ordering.co runs the order.
Your email provider delivers the message. Ordering.co runs the orders, channels, and teams every email is about:
- More products and features. More than 20 products and more than 1,500 features across websites, apps, marketplaces, kiosks, call centers, loyalty, and delivery.
- Your own branded channels. Order emails go out with your sender name and address, under your brand.
- Your design, not a template. Build an ordering experience with your own custom design, with help from our team.
- Built to extend. APIs and MCP, with application source code available on eligible plans.
Why use Custom SMTP with Ordering.co
- Your name in the inbox. Emails show your sender name and address.
- Replies reach your team. Set the reply-to address and name customers answer to.
- Your email provider, your rules. Send through the SMTP server and account you already use.
- The right email for each person. Choose which order-status emails each user level receives.
What stays with your email provider
Your email provider controls the sending side:
- Connection details, including the port and encryption type your server accepts.
- Sender authorization and domain authentication for the addresses you send from.
- Sending limits and deliverability for your account.
How an order email is sent
- An order changes status, for example when a business accepts it.
- Ordering.co checks which user levels have that email alert selected.
- The email is sent through your SMTP server, from your sender name and address.
- Recipients who reply reach your reply-to address.

Questions
Frequently asked questions.
What does Custom SMTP do in Ordering.co?
It sends the emails Ordering.co generates, such as order-status alerts, through your own email provider's SMTP server instead of the platform's default sending account.
What happens if I do not set it up?
Leave Use Default SMTP Account on Yes and Ordering.co sends your emails with the system default settings.
Which details do I need from my email provider?
The SMTP host, port, username, password, and encryption setting. Your provider sets these values; port 587 or 465 and TLS encryption are common, but use the values your provider documents.
Can I choose who receives each email?
Yes. Email alerts let you choose which order-status emails administrators, businesses, customers, and drivers receive.
Can customers reply to my emails?
Yes. Set a Reply-To Email Address and Reply-To Email Name, and replies go to the address you choose.
How do I keep my SMTP password safe?
Treat it as a credential. Enter it only in the Dashboard, never in screenshots, tickets, or shared documents, and change it with your email provider if it is exposed.
Put your own name on every order email.
Tell us which email provider you use and who needs order emails, and we will help you set up Custom SMTP.
