Set up and go live
- Create or sign in to your Square account and note the location that should receive payments.
- In the Square Developer Dashboard, create an application and copy its sandbox and production access tokens.
- Ordering.co installs the Square Checkout integration on your project and gives you the webhook address to add in Square for payment updates.
- In the Ordering.co Dashboard, add the access token, location ID, and webhook signature key to Square Checkout for each business that should offer it.
- Place test orders in Square’s sandbox, then switch to your production credentials.
Keep access tokens private. Enter them only in the Dashboard, never in emails, tickets, or shared documents.

How do customers pay with Square Checkout?
At checkout they choose Square and are sent to a Square-hosted payment page for the order total. After paying, Square returns them to your ordering site or app.
Which payment methods appear on the Square page?
Square's checkout page supports credit and debit cards and wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. The methods each customer sees depend on your Square account, your country, and their device.
When is the order placed?
Only after Square completes the payment. If the customer leaves the Square page before returning, Ordering.co can still place the order when Square reports the completed payment.
In which countries can I use Square Checkout?
You need a Square account in one of the countries where Square processes payments, listed on this page. Square approves each seller account.
Can each business use its own Square account?
Yes. Square is enabled business by business, and each business adds its own Square access token and location.
