How a request works

Your app sends a request to your project’s API address: https://api.ordering.co/v400/<language_code>/<project_id>/<resource>.
When the operation accepts API-key authentication, the request carries your key in the X-Api-Key header.
The API responds in JSON, with the result of the operation and its status.
Your app uses the data, for example to show a store’s categories and products or to list recent orders.

Set up and go live

The Use the Ordering.co API guide and Create an API key guide walk through each step:

Find your project ID in Ordering.co. It is lowercase and has no spaces.
In the Dashboard, open Settings > Pro > Developers > API Keys, select Add API Key, and copy the key.
Open the operation you need in the API Reference and check its parameters and authentication.
Test your requests with a tool such as Postman before you build them into your app.

Keep API keys private. Never share them in chats or commit them to a repository. If a key may have been exposed, delete it and create a new one.

In the Ordering.co Dashboard, open Settings > Pro > Developers > API Keys and select Add API Key. Copy the key and store it securely.

Call your project's API address with its project ID and language code, and send the key in the X-Api-Key header when the operation accepts API-key authentication.

Authentication depends on the operation. Most operations accept either an API key, sent in its own X-Api-Key header, or a bearer token, and some need neither. Each operation in the API Reference shows what it accepts.

Where do I create an API key?

In the Ordering.co Dashboard, open Settings > Pro > Developers > API Keys and select Add API Key. Treat the key like a password, and if you think it has been exposed, delete it and create a new one.

Can I connect AI tools to my Ordering.co account?

Yes. Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, and other compatible AI tools connect to your Ordering.co account through MCP.

Is the API included in my plan?

Yes. The API is included in every plan. Application source code is also available on eligible plans.

Do I need the API to send events to other systems?
