Currencies

Customers can pay in USD or ZiG. You choose which currencies to offer and set the exchange rate Ordering.co uses when the customer’s currency differs from your store’s currency.

Set up and go live

  1. Open an EcoCash merchant account and get your EcoCash API credentials for sandbox and live.
  2. Talk to us, and we will install the EcoCash integration on your Ordering.co project.
  3. In the Ordering.co Dashboard, enter your EcoCash username and password, choose the currencies to offer, and set the exchange rate.
  4. Add EcoCash to each business’s payment methods and enter its merchant details: merchant number, merchant code, merchant PIN, merchant name, location, and super merchant name.
  5. Place test orders in sandbox mode, then switch to live mode.

Keep your EcoCash password and merchant PIN private. Enter them only in the Dashboard, never in emails, tickets, or shared documents.

How do customers pay with EcoCash?

At checkout, customers choose EcoCash and the currency they want to pay in. EcoCash sends a payment request to the mobile number on their customer profile, and the customer confirms it on their phone. The order is confirmed when EcoCash reports the payment as completed.

Which currencies can customers pay in?

USD and ZiG. You choose which of the two to offer. When the customer pays in a currency different from your store's, Ordering.co converts the order total with the exchange rate you set.

In which countries can I use EcoCash?

EcoCash is a mobile money service in Zimbabwe, listed on this page. You need an EcoCash merchant account, which EcoCash sets up through Econet Shops after vetting your business.
