How the automation runs

## A special request, checked against your rules.

When

**A customer requests a special delivery**

From the Custom order banner on supported website layouts, the customer chooses where to pick up and where to deliver.

Then

1. **Distance is checked**

Ordering.co compares the route with your maximum delivery distance before the customer can continue.

2. **The request is described**

The customer lists the items and quantities. Depending on your website, the form can also show instructions, a declared value, and the delivery fee.

3. **The order is placed**

The customer chooses from the payment options your website shows and places the request, which reaches your team as an order.

## More orders from the same fleet

Custom orders let your customers ask for deliveries that are not on any menu, and your team handles them like any other order:

- **New revenue.** Offer errands, special purchases, and one-off deliveries with your own drivers.
- **Your rules first.** You set the maximum distance and the fee per km, and requests beyond your distance limit cannot be placed.
- **One operation.** Custom requests arrive in Ordering.co next to the rest of your orders.

## What customers see

1. A **Custom order** banner on supported website layouts asks if they need a special delivery.
2. They choose the pickup place and the delivery location, with a route preview and distance check.
3. They describe each item and its quantity. Depending on your website, they can also add instructions and a declared value.
4. They review the request, choose from the payment options shown, and place the order.

Questions

## Frequently asked questions.

What can customers request?

A special pickup and delivery, such as buying a specific item or collecting something and bringing it to them. They describe each item and its quantity, and the form can also ask for instructions and a declared value.

How is the delivery fee calculated?

From the delivery fee per km you set in Settings > Custom orders and the distance between the pickup and delivery locations.

Can I limit how far a request can go?

Yes. Set a maximum delivery distance. When the locations are farther apart, the customer sees Distance exceeded and cannot continue. You can also set a maximum order weight, which customers see as guidance.

Where do customers find it?

In the Custom order banner on supported website layouts, after signing in.

Can my team create a custom order for a customer?

Yes. Administrators can use Create custom order in the Dashboard to record an order from a store's products or with an approved custom total.
