## Clover runs the counter. Ordering.co runs online ordering.

Clover is built for the point of sale, from payments at the counter to the devices your staff carry. Ordering.co is focused on online ordering, so you keep Clover where it is strongest and get a much more powerful ordering operation online:

- **More products and features.** More than 20 products and more than 1,500 features across websites, apps, marketplaces, kiosks, call centers, loyalty, and delivery.
- **Your design, not a template.** Build an ordering experience with your own custom design, and our team helps you customize it.
- **Built to extend.** Connect your own tools through APIs and MCP, with application source code available on eligible plans.
- **Delivery included.** Auto-assign delivery companies or your in-house drivers, while orders keep landing in Clover.

## Why use Clover with Ordering.co

- **One menu to maintain.** Update categories, items, prices, and modifiers in Clover and sync them to your online store instead of editing two menus.
- **Orders land where your team already works.** Online orders arrive in Clover with no manual re-entry, so staff fulfill them like any in-store sale.
- **Customers and payments on record.** Each online customer is created in Clover with their address, and orders paid online carry an External Payment tender.
- **The right order type every time.** Delivery, pickup, dine-in, curbside, drive-through, and catering orders are labeled with the matching Clover order type.

## What Clover brings

Clover documents its hardware on [Clover devices](https://docs.clover.com/dev/docs/clover-devices):

- **Countertop and handheld POS**, from Clover Station for payments, inventory, timesheets, and reports to the mobile Clover Flex.
- **Customer-facing devices**, including Clover Mini and the dual-screen Clover Kiosk.
- **Apps on the Clover App Market** that extend what each device can do.

## How orders move between Ordering.co and Clover

1. The customer orders on your website or app, with modifiers and any mix of categories, and confirms at checkout.
2. Ordering.co sends the order to the store’s Clover merchant account.
3. The order appears in Clover with its line items, modifiers, taxes, special instructions, and order type.
4. The customer is added to Clover with their contact details and address.
5. If the customer paid online, the order is recorded against Clover’s External Payment tender.

## Set up and go live

1. Clean up the menu in Clover first: organize categories, set modifiers, and hide items you do not sell online.
2. Open the Clover setup from the Ordering.co Dashboard and sign in with your Ordering.co account.
3. Select the store you want to connect.
4. Select **Connect with Clover**, sign in to Clover, and approve access.
5. Check the store’s menu in Ordering.co, then place a test order and confirm it appears in Clover.

The [Set up POS systems guide](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/ai-dashboard/integrations-channels/setup-pos-systems/) shows where to follow each store’s connection status in the Ordering.co Dashboard.

## More ways to use Clover

- **[Square](https://www.ordering.co/integrations/square/)** connects another widely used restaurant POS to Ordering.co.
- **[Deliverect](https://www.ordering.co/integrations/deliverect/)** connects many POS systems and sales channels through one integration partner.

How it connects

## Clover also connects through middleware.

Middleware is the bridge between two systems. Clover already works with Deliverect, ItsaCheckmate, and Stream, and so does Ordering.co, so your menu comes from Clover and each online order goes back to it without a custom build. Our team helps you set up the connection.

- [DeliverectMenus published from Deliverect, orders sent to your POS through Deliverect, and status kept in step.](https://www.ordering.co/integrations/deliverect/)
- [ItsaCheckmateMenu sync from ItsaCheckmate and online orders sent to your POS through ItsaCheckmate.](https://www.ordering.co/integrations/itsacheckmate/)
- [StreamMenu published from Stream, online orders sent to your POS through Stream, and live status updates back.](https://www.ordering.co/integrations/stream/)

Which order types reach Clover?

Delivery, pickup, dine-in, curbside, drive-through, and catering orders each arrive with the matching Clover order type. If the order type does not exist yet in your Clover account, it is created for you.
