Cart and ordering rules

## What you can do

- ### Quantity limits

Set a minimum quantity to order for a product, or a maximum that fits in one order.

- ### Special instructions control

Turn off the special instructions field for products where notes don't apply.

- ### One-click add from the menu

Customers add an eligible simple product straight from its menu card, without opening the product form.

- ### Cart editing

Customers change quantities, remove a product, or clear the whole cart in a few clicks.

- ### Real-time cart validation

The cart rechecks availability, promotions, and totals when the customer submits the order.

- ### Out-of-zone address alerts

A store only shows up to customers whose address falls inside one of its delivery zones.

- ### Checkout fields by order type

Show or require checkout fields, such as name, mobile phone, or comments, separately for each order type.

- ### Switch store from cart

Customers move their cart to another location without losing items, as long as the new store carries the same products.

- ### Order confirmation page design

Choose the updated layout for the order confirmation page, or keep the classic design.

Website and customer app

## Add a simple product in one click

For eligible products, customers can skip the product form entirely and add the item straight from the menu card.

- Works for simple, eligible products that don't need a choice, directly from the menu card
- Turned on or off for the project from Platform settings, as Quick Add Product
- The cart still checks availability and cart rules before accepting the item
- A recognized product link can also add the product directly instead of opening its customization form

Dashboard

## Quantity limits and special instructions, set per product

Two controls in the product editor's Advanced tab shape what a customer can do with an item before it reaches checkout.

- Minimum quantity to order, so a product can require ordering more than one
- Maximum quantity to order, so a product can't exceed a set number per order
- Hide special instructions, to turn off the notes field for a specific product

Website and customer apps

## Review, edit, and revalidate the cart

Before checkout, customers can adjust exactly what they're ordering, and the cart keeps its numbers current as they do.

- Change a quantity with the plus or minus controls; a line at quantity one shows a trash action instead of reducing to zero
- Reopen an eligible product to review its ingredients, options, and special instructions, then update it
- Remove one product, or clear the whole cart, each with a confirmation step
- The cart rechecks availability, promotions, and totals when the customer submits the order
- The subtotal, discount, and total refresh after every accepted change

Dashboard, website, and customer app

## Only stores that can reach the customer's address

A store's delivery zones decide who can order from it, and get rechecked wherever the customer's address can change: the store listing, the store's page or checkout, and reordering.

- Draw a delivery zone as a circle, a polygon, an everywhere area, or distance-based rings from the store
- Each zone sets its own minimum order amount and delivery fee
- A store with several zones charges the fee for whichever zone the customer's address falls in
- If an address falls outside every zone a store has defined, that store doesn't appear in the customer's results
- Changing the address on a store's page or at checkout rechecks the zones, and tells the customer when the new address is out of range
- Reordering rechecks the zones again, in case the store's delivery area changed since the original order

Dashboard

## Configure checkout fields for each order type

Decide what customers see and what they must fill in at checkout, one order type at a time.

- Configure one order type at a time: delivery, pickup, eatin, curbside, drive thru, seat delivery, catering delivery or pickup, or reservation
- Turn each field's Status (shown) and Required (mandatory) on or off for that order type
- Covers customer details such as name and mobile phone, the zipcode, and order preferences such as coupon, driver tip, and comments
- Each switch saves as soon as you set it, so review the result before changing the next field
- Applies to checkout only, not the fields asked at registration or sign-in

Dashboard

## Switch stores without losing the cart

A customer who started ordering from the wrong location of a multi-location brand doesn't have to start over.

- Customers keep every item in the cart when they switch to a location that carries the same products
- Without it, a customer who picked the wrong store has to empty the cart and start over
- Turned on for the whole project from Dashboard settings

Dashboard

## Choose the confirmation page design

The order success and confirmation page customers see after checkout can use either of two layouts.

- Choose the updated layout for the order success and confirmation page
- Or keep the classic confirmation page design
- Applies across the project from Dashboard settings

How it works

## From setup to the next order.

1. 01**Set product and cart rules**

In Categories & products, set a minimum or maximum quantity and turn off special instructions where they don't apply; turn Quick Add Product on from Platform settings.

2. 02**Configure checkout by order type**

In Checkout by order type, choose an order type and set which fields are shown and required for it.

3. 03**Decide store switching and the confirmation page**

Turn on store switching from the cart and choose the confirmation page design that fits your brand.

## Good to know

- Quantity limits, special instructions, and quick add apply per product or per project from the Dashboard; store switching, checkout fields, and the confirmation page design apply across the whole project.
- Checkout field settings save one field at a time, so review the result for the current order type before moving to the next.
- A store's delivery zones decide whether it can reach a customer at all, before any other checkout rule applies.
