# Ordering.co vs Nautical Commerce / Traide

The Nautical Commerce domain currently redirects to Traide. Traide presents a broader software and AI engineering business and describes its marketplace platform as formerly Nautical Commerce. The platform guides still document sellers, catalog, checkout, shipping and payouts. Ordering.co focuses on connected ordering channels, merchants and delivery. Compare current platform access and custom work separately, rather than assuming an older Nautical product description or price table is today’s complete offer.

## Why local-ordering builders evaluate Ordering.co

- ### Start with the merchant and delivery workflow

Ordering.co connects customer ordering to merchant work and driver assignment. For local food delivery, prioritize preparation, service zones, availability and proof over a generic seller-shipping checklist.

- ### Connect native operating surfaces

Use customer apps, Merchant App, Driver App and Dashboard on the same order foundation. A headless commerce API and a merchant-driver operation are different scopes, even when both can support a branded storefront.

- ### Make frontend and backend boundaries explicit

Ordering.co includes its frontends as open source and manages the backend by default. Compare assets, maintenance, code rights and project ownership against the precise Traide platform and engineering agreement.

“Not listed” means the capability does not appear in Nautical Commerce / Traide's product lineup. Confirm scope and terms with each provider.

## Keep platform and service work separate

- ### An old brand reference is not a current quote

Match current platform access, seller limits, API entitlements, transaction basis and term to the proposal. The old pricing endpoint now leads to a project discussion, so do not budget from an older indexed tariff. Engineering services are not automatically included in platform access.

- ### Shipping does not complete local delivery

For a local marketplace, demonstrate store acceptance, preparation, multi-store timing, driver availability, failed delivery and proof. Warehouse and carrier configuration may be useful without resolving these operating steps.

- ### Headless flexibility creates integration responsibility

Assign ownership for catalog feeds, checkout, identity, payments, webhooks, error recovery and frontend releases. Compare that workload with the connected ordering operation, not simply whether both vendors list an API.

## Identify the current product and contracting scope

A legacy Nautical reference can identify the marketplace platform, while the current Traide proposal may also include engineering services. Confirm the legal counterparty, platform tier, managed responsibilities, custom deliverables and renewal terms before comparing costs. The redirect is not evidence that the platform or your existing contract has ceased operating.

## Proven with enterprise brands.

The platform you would run on already runs ordering for Alsea, a multi-brand restaurant group with more than 4,000 locations.

## Move sellers and financial obligations with the storefront

### What moves

- #### Catalog and seller agreements

Map sellers, users, taxonomy, variants, commissions, warehouses, service areas and signed participation terms. Validate export format and field rights before a bulk move.

- #### Customers, orders and payout balances

Reconcile open orders, refunds, seller liabilities and payment accounts. Preserve consent, domain control and the financial archive; gateway tokens do not follow a catalog export.

### How the move runs

1. #### Identify the current agreements

Separate legacy Nautical, current Traide platform, hosting and custom-service commitments. Define which system will own each event after the move.

2. #### Run a multi-seller pilot

Test a mixed basket, seller rejection, stock change, partial refund, seller payout, and driver handoff with realistic data. Verify both customer status and operator balances.

3. #### Cut over with rollback and archives

Release the new channel after operational acceptance. Keep exports and the old system available until open customer and seller obligations are reconciled.

## Questions about Nautical Commerce and Traide

What happened to the Nautical Commerce name?

Its domain redirects to Traide, whose current site describes the marketplace platform as formerly Nautical Commerce. That does not alone establish discontinuation, a particular asset-transfer contract, or unchanged terms for an existing account.

Is Traide only a development agency?

The current site emphasizes engineering and software projects while also describing its marketplace platform. Platform guides remain available. Specify whether the proposal includes platform access, custom work or both; the former pricing endpoint now redirects to project discussion.

Are payouts and payment processing included in the same price?

Do not assume that. Separate subscription and transaction charges from the selected payment provider, seller onboarding, payout and currency costs. Use one complete order-and-refund example to reconcile the total.

When is Ordering.co the more relevant comparison?

When the core need is local ordering with merchant and driver operations connected to your channels. If the project needs a broader commerce build or specialist workflows, include that engineering scope explicitly instead of assuming complete equivalence.
