# Ordering.co vs Arcadier

Arcadier supplies an API-first marketplace engine with buyer, seller, and admin portals. Ordering.co connects customer ordering to menus, merchant work, payments, and delivery. For a restaurant, grocery, or local-store marketplace, compare how much of the operating journey is already a product and which parts your implementation team must build and maintain.

## Why local-commerce builders evaluate Ordering.co

The question is not whether a platform has APIs. It is whether its transaction model and operator tools fit the order you need to fulfill.

- ### Begin with menus and store operations

Ordering.co models products, required modifiers, availability, store hours, and order types alongside merchant acceptance and preparation. A food marketplace can start from that operating structure instead of treating the menu as a generic listing exercise.

- ### Make delivery part of the same order

Connect service zones, assignment, driver availability, status, and proof of delivery. When one restaurant rejects an order or a driver cannot complete it, the operator can follow the exception in the ordering and delivery workflow.

- ### Give each participant an operational product

Customer apps, Ordering Merchant, Driver App, and Dashboard address different jobs on the same platform. Merchants work their own orders while the marketplace operator manages stores and delivery across the network.

- ### Customize where your model differs

Use Ordering.co APIs, webhooks, and the open-source frontends included with every product. You can change the customer experience without assuming that frontend access includes backend source code or unlimited implementation services.

## From marketplace transaction to delivered order

Arcadier already supports marketplace transactions and extensibility. The local-delivery decision is the depth of the workflow around those transactions.

Custom storefronts need not modify its core. |
| Hosting and release responsibility | Managed infrastructure is the default. Enterprise bring-your-own-cloud installations are available by agreement; frontend rights do not imply ownership of the managed backend. | Arcadier describes cloud-hosted infrastructure and isolated Stage and Production environments. Its environment guide requires production configuration to be replicated and tested separately. |

## Scope the work behind an Arcadier proposal

- ### Do not carry old DIY prices into an enterprise decision

The current Arcadier website presents an enterprise marketplace platform and a sales-contact path, without a public plan price on the pages reviewed. A search for Arcadier DIY marketplaces does not establish today's license, hosting, support, or implementation cost. Request those lines for your actual deployment.

- ### Order tracking does not prove dispatch depth

Arcadier's marketplace engine includes order management. Its reviewed platform and developer pages do not list first-party restaurant kiosks, a phone-agent ordering console, a native driver app, or catalog-aware AI ordering. Treat any proposed integration or custom implementation of those as scoped work, not an inherent impossibility.

- ### Budget for the lifecycle of your integrations

Build costs include catalog mapping, payment exceptions, local delivery, and the people who maintain integrations after launch. For either platform, name who monitors failed events, reconciles orders and payouts, updates the frontend, and supports merchants during service.

## Proven with enterprise brands.

The platform you would run on already runs ordering for Alsea, a multi-brand restaurant group with more than 4,000 locations.

[Alsea runs WOW+ and ten restaurant brands on one ordering platform.Domino's, Starbucks, Burger King, Vips, and six more brands share one app, one website, call centers, and a delivery operation that assigns drivers automatically.**10** brands on WOW+**4,262** locationsMexico and ColombiaRead the Alsea story](https://www.ordering.co/customers/alsea/)

## Move from Arcadier with the transaction model intact

Map the marketplace you actually built, including custom code and integrations. A new storefront is not proof that seller balances, transaction states, and delivery responsibilities have moved.

### What moves

- #### Vendors, catalog, and relationships

Export the records your access and agreement permit. Preserve vendor identifiers, category mappings, variants, prices, store relationships, and the rules used to approve sellers.

- #### Orders and outstanding money

Reconcile open transactions, commission rules, refunds, disputes, and unsettled seller balances before mapping them into the new order flow. A copied order history is not a transferred payment obligation.

- #### Extensions and control points

Inventory API consumers, webhook subscriptions, storefront code, authentication, domains, and provider accounts. Record the owner of every catalog, payment, fulfillment, and customer-data change.

### How the move runs

1. #### Choose a representative merchant

Select a merchant whose modifiers, fulfillment, and payments exercise the intended model. Write down buyer, merchant, driver, and operator acceptance criteria before configuration.

2. #### Recreate the complete transaction

Run discovery, checkout, acceptance, preparation, assignment, delivery, and reconciliation. Include a multi-store cart if that is part of your marketplace, rather than testing only a single listing.

3. #### Test events that arrive twice or late

Rehearse a repeated webhook, a merchant rejection after payment, and a failed handoff to delivery. Confirm which system can retry and who resolves a mismatch in financial or order state.

4. #### Move traffic after reconciliation

Use a controlled changeover with merchant training, monitoring, and a recovery path. Keep the old records available until outstanding orders, refunds, and seller balances are resolved.

API access helps with migration but does not guarantee portable passwords, saved payment methods, custom transaction logic, or every historical field. Define the export/import scope and contract obligations before retiring Arcadier.

## Questions from marketplace builders comparing Arcadier

Is Arcadier a DIY builder or an enterprise platform?

Its current positioning is an API-first marketplace platform with native portals, configurable workflows, and extensibility. If you arrive from older DIY material, ask which current product and implementation your proposal covers. Configuration, a custom frontend, and specialized fulfillment are different scopes of work.

How do Arcadier pricing and Ordering.co costs compare?

Use a written Arcadier proposal and the Ordering.co scope for the same merchants, channels, integrations, and fulfillment. Compare license/subscription, implementation, hosting responsibilities, maintenance, support, and payment or delivery usage. This page does not infer an enterprise starting price from historical plan listings.

What do Arcadier marketplace examples demonstrate?

Arcadier publishes BCAA's automotive marketplace and Kinora's services marketplace, among other cases. Those examples show different marketplace models; they do not establish that restaurant preparation, grocery substitutions, or driver dispatch are ready-made in your proposed build. Use an example close to your transaction and then test the operating details.

Does Arcadier give developers source code?

Its developer guide says clients receive a React/Node.js frontend API template and can extend the experience through APIs without modifying the core. Ordering.co includes open-source frontend code with every product. Neither statement should be read as unrestricted ownership of a managed backend; Ordering.co backend source requires a separate approved enterprise license.

How should we evaluate Arcadier reviews and competitors?

Match the reviewer's transaction model and implementation team to your own. Separate feedback on the platform from feedback on a custom integration or delivery partner. For alternatives, test the same vendor onboarding, multi-store checkout, refund, and delivery exception so the comparison reflects an operating business rather than a template demo.
