# How to register a restaurant on Uber Eats

Prepare the merchant application, menu, fulfillment, and first-order workflow, then distinguish activation from connecting an existing store to Ordering.co.

## Register the business, then prepare the service

To register a restaurant on Uber Eats, use the official merchant process for the country and store location. Submitting a form, completing account review, configuring a menu, and being ready to accept orders are separate milestones.

This guide is for a restaurant operator. It does not create a consumer account or courier job application. If the store already has an Uber Eats partnership, identify whether you need an additional location, account support, or a connection to your existing ordering tools before submitting another application.

## Choose the correct country and location

Start from the [US merchant signup page](https://merchants.ubereats.com/us/en/s/signup/) or the [Mexico merchant portal](https://merchants.ubereats.com/mx/es/), as appropriate; choose the corresponding official local route for another market.

Uber's [US merchant FAQ](https://merchants.ubereats.com/us/en/faq/) describes review of service geography, a licensed eligible business, whether the location is already on the platform, and a menu or catalog. Its [Mexico FAQ](https://merchants.ubereats.com/mx/es/faq/) also provides a local starting point. These are application criteria, not approval guarantees.

Use the correct store address and distinguish legal business information from a customer-facing brand. For another branch of an existing partnership, follow the additional-location route and identify its separate address. A different email address does not, by itself, resolve an existing-store problem.

## Prepare the information the local process requests

Collect the store name, address, responsible contact, telephone and email, service type, locations, menu, and the business information requested by the country-specific form. Prepare any identity, business, licensing, fiscal, or banking documentation that the actual onboarding process asks you to provide; do not assume one country's document names apply worldwide.

Make sure an authorized person controls the merchant account and can complete verification. Submit sensitive documents and banking information through the official process, not an unsolicited contact or a public ticket. Keep a record of which store the application concerns and which steps remain open.

The [Mexico portal](https://merchants.ubereats.com/mx/es/) visibly separates contact, store address, business name, and business type. Use that as a reminder to keep those records consistent rather than filling a location field with a headquarters address that cannot prepare the order.

## Prepare a menu that can be ordered

Create clear categories, item names, descriptions, prices, required choices, paid extras, photographs you may use, and availability. Include the store's actual service hours and a preparation process the team can support.

For an illustrative restaurant, use one main dish with a required option and a paid extra. Check the displayed amount and what the kitchen receives. A missing modifier may look minor in a menu upload but become an unusable order during service.

If the store will use a POS or menu integration, establish which system owns updates before editing in multiple places. Uber's merchant FAQ cautions integrated operators to use the appropriate POS/menu workflow rather than assuming every change belongs in Menu Maker. Confirm the route for the exact connection and account.

## Choose fulfillment and review commercial terms

Uber's [delivery and pickup overview](https://merchants.ubereats.com/us/en/services/delivery-pickup/) describes choosing the service arrangement as part of setup. Discuss the options actually available to your store: network delivery, your staff where supported, and customer pickup.

Read the local proposal for platform charges, processing where applicable, promotions, equipment or activation arrangements, refunds, support, and settlement. An introductory offer does not define the full recurring cost. Do not assume every country, plan, or fulfillment method carries the same fees or delivery area.

Separate Marketplace from Uber Direct. Marketplace receives orders in the Uber Eats customer channel; Direct fulfills orders originating in the business's own channels. Register for the service that matches the operating job rather than assuming an account activates every Uber product.

## Complete review and rehearse the first order

Follow the remaining verification and setup steps shown for the account. Confirm the live menu, selected service, store information, receiving device or integration, and staff access. If activation is incomplete, resolve it through official merchant support rather than repeatedly creating the store again.

Before promoting the listing, rehearse with the authorized test or activation process provided for the account:

1. Find the correct location and eligible menu.
2. Select the required option and extra and inspect the total.
3. Confirm how staff receive and accept the order.
4. Check kitchen detail, preparation, and pickup or delivery handoff.
5. Follow the status to completion and find the financial reference.
6. Resolve an unavailable item, cancellation, or payment issue using the supported procedure.

Do not turn a submitted application or uploaded menu into a promise that orders can already be accepted. Time to activate depends on the account review, data readiness, equipment or integration, and local setup.

## Improve service after activation

Useful “Uber Eats tricks” for an operator are repeatable operating habits, not guaranteed ranking shortcuts. Keep menu descriptions and photos accurate, remove unavailable items, correct required choices, and use hours the restaurant can fulfill.

Uber's [menu-hours guidance](https://help.uber.com/en/merchants-and-restaurants/article/how-to-change-your-menu-hours?nodeId=0e4ffe4a-758f-4b0f-82d9-dedf96fa9afb) describes ordinary and temporary hour management and notes that integrated setups need their appropriate workflow. Pause the channel through its supported controls when the kitchen cannot serve it; switching off a device is not a reliable closure procedure.

Review rejected orders, preparation delays, missing items, and customer contacts. Fix the recurring cause and measure the result. Compare advertising and promotion costs separately from ordinary service performance; do not assume a discount repairs a faulty menu or produces a guaranteed return.

## Connecting an existing store to Ordering.co is a different step

The [Ordering.co Uber Eats integration](https://www.ordering.co/integrations/uber-eats/) publishes menu information to Uber Eats and receives its orders alongside supported own channels, with status sent back. The documented path requests the channel, connects the existing store with the team, and publishes the menu.

That does not replace Uber's registration, approval, local terms, or merchant relationship. Confirm menu authority, store mapping, payment references, cancellations, and support boundaries before moving an active workflow. Do not share access credentials in public messages.

A [restaurant's direct Ordering.co channel](https://www.ordering.co/solutions/restaurants/) is another customer entry point; it can complement a marketplace rather than altering the fees on orders still placed inside Uber Eats.

## See it running on your own menu.

The shortest way to understand any of this is to watch an order go from a storefront to a store to a driver, on your locations.
